Our Son Gary John
A Word From My Mom:
"I am
Gary's mother, Linda, and I am very proud of the
strides Gary John's has made over time with his
disabilities. I believe Gary John will one day
with the drive and loving support of people who
surround him, make his dreams come true. He truely
loves monster trucks and so very much wants to
be a monster truck driver. He dreams of one day
driving Bulldozer, his favorite truck. He has
had so many wonderful experiences ever since he
became a spectator with monster trucks. My husband
and I pay special thanks to Tom Meents with all
are heart and soul for what he recently did for
our son on September 17, 2005 by gifting my son
with his winning trophy. He has always been a
wonderful influence from afar and really does
not even know the impact he has on our lives on
a day to day basis. We incorporate things to do
with the drivers and Gary's heros in to our daily
rountine to help Gary complete tasks and do things
that he will at times do not otherwise want to
do. We have enjoyed and created many great memories
thanks to the events that Clear Channel has created
in the area of monster trucks. We appreciate how
much all the drivers are available to the fans.
We just think that the generousness of these drivers
are incrediable and appreciate how much they go
out of their way to take pictures, give autographs
and have conversations with their fans. They are
as devoted to the fans as the fans are to them.
We are fortune to be able to take Gary John to
as many events with in our town and the neighboring
states that we are able to drive to. Thanks to
many of the drivers including Dennis Anderson,
Scott Hartsock, Madusa, Jim Kohler, Jimmy Creton,
Phil Foster, Gary Porter, Guy Wood and Lupe Sosa
as well as so many others for going out of their
way to be so kind and give so much back to us
in memories that will aways be a pleasure to look
back at with joy and laughter."
A Word From My Dad:
"I am Gary John's
father. My son Gary John is truely the best kid
in the whole world. He has a learning disabilty,
Persuasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) which
has been one long road. I don't know where to
start as we have had many problems, issues, etc.
Gary John has been in our Township's Special Education
Program since the age of 3, he is currently in
7th grade. We have done every conceivable tests
possible, genetic testing, MRI's, EKG's, specialist
after specialist, we got no where. He is currently
on Luvox for his anxiety and it helps tremendously.
The real cure is tremendous family love and care.
It's just amazing as sometimes he is just the
normal boy, playstation, go-carts and all the
things kids do. His true love is Monster Trucks.
He collects the Hot Wheels 1/64th, his collection
is quite large. I am not sure on Gary John's future,
college may not be in the path, so one must always
follow his dream. A dream, dedication and the
consistant effort will make the dream reality.
This may take 6-7 years to accomplish but I do
believe he will race Monster Trucks one day. Life
is full of challenges, everyone has ones of different
forms, all can be overcome with tremendous drive and vision. Thanks to all who have spent the time looking
through my son's website, thanks everyone. He
is very proud and happy with anything Monster
Truck. Also, thanks ClearChannel, for supporting
all the Monster Jam Events, it makes many kids
very happy."

Struggling to Learn - My wife (Linda) and I are in the process of finalizing the opening of
a non-profit foundation to help kids with PDD, Autism and/or
other types of learning disabilities. Public and
private schools are great, but sometimes there
is the needed extra specialized programs for supportive learning. We have
13 years of knowledge and experience in this field, so it will be our time
to give back to society in helping kids learn. We will be introducing our new website soon "Struggling To Learn",
and will make it our commitment to provide the help that is so despirately needed.
We will provide full details on how we will be helping children and our strive to raise money for the cause.
